People with finished basements who are experiencing leaking issues can be quite overcome with anxiety. After all, not only does the leaking ruin your finished touches, it also requires having strangers come into your finished basement to do some dirty work. We try to ease the minds of our customers who have finished basements by doing things like communicating what to expect, preparing the basement by laying plastic everywhere, being timely, and by being super careful of our surroundings. For this job, you can see that the water intrusions had ruined their drywall and carpet in the before picture, so they wanted it waterproofed. After we got the job completed, the customer was very appreciative of how we took care of their home.
A Georgetown, Ohio homeowner had concerns about moisture in the crawl space and was interested in encapsulation. He met with Steve, a Certified Inspector, who recommended a CleanSpace encapsulation system with drainage matting underneath, SilverGlo insulation panels, rim tight joist insulation, and a SmartSump sump pump installed to resolve this problem for the homeowner. In these pictures you can see the before and after of this crawl space. Before, the crawl space had little to no protection from moisture seeping into the crawl space. Now with the CleanSpace encapsulation system, the crawl space has a vapor and mold proof liner, and the SmartSump will drain any water that seeps under the CleanSpace liner out of the crawl space.
This customer was having issues of one side of their basement being susceptible to leaking and flooding. Multiple cracks had appeared on one side of the basement due to the houses physical location and its relation to water. The side house also had a window that was leaking water. Since the house was only leaking from one side, we installed our waterproofing system on one side of the basement to save the customer resources. The window received a Well Duct to flow the water into the Water Guard, the floor received our Water Guard and Super Pump Plus, and the walls received our Clean Space Wall to keep the walls dry and looking good.
When our team checked out this Bethel home, we noticed that they had already had a sump installed in their basement. Unfortunately, this sump was an open model - which can allow insects and other items to fall inside. It also doesn't prevent water from evaporating out of the hole back into the basement, potentially creating problems with odors and mold. We immediately suggested that they switch to the SuperSump. The SuperSump includes the most reliable pump available, a WaterWatch alarm system, and a patented SuperLiner with an airtight lid! These sumps are neat and clean, and won't allow odors or moisture to escape.
This basement had a combined issue of foundation shifting and water leaking. We installed WaterGuard, PowerBraces, and a TripleSafe sump pump to fix the issues at hand.
