This large basement was having issues with staying dry. It was also leaking a lot of cold air into the home. We installed our waterproofing system along with our Basement to Beautiful panels, which are great insulators. They also cannot grow mold or hold moisture due to their inorganic materials.
Stacy owned a home in Bellevue, Kentucky, that was built in 1906. The old home had a stone foundation that leaked. Having used The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati previously, she called us and scheduled an estimate. Other companies say that stone foundations can't be waterproofed. Our foreman David however, was able to waterproof this 120-year old basement with no problems!
The owner of this home had been living there five years when they gave us a call. They were concerned about humidity issues, as well as having to replace their furnace filter every year. You see, this dirt floor in the basement was throwing dirt and dust around everywhere, and then the furnace would throw the dirt all around the upper levels of the home. The high humidity levels were also making the furnace work twice as hard, as it's way more difficult to heat and cool humid air versus dry air. We got the job done by waterproofing the whole basement with a CleanSpace vapor barrier, drainage matting, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, and a SuperSump sump pump.
In order to install our interior perimeter drainage system, we did have to move some objects away from the perimeter of the basement. We then cover the items with a tarp to make sure dust does not get on the home owners valuable items.
This basement was leaking water and was causing a moldy smell to leak above to the inhabitants of the home. We installed WaterGuard drainage, a TripleSafe sump pump, a Sedona Sani Dry Dehumidifier, and trench drains to stop the basement from leaking. We also installed CleanSpace walls to help cosmetically, as well as help drain water from the walls to the system.
