The cracks in these concrete slabs could allow for further weather intrusion, causing the concrete cracks to get worse. We filled the cracks with Nexus Pro crack sealant, which is UV-resistant and won't crack or bubble.
The effects of hydrostatic pressure can be very profound. After all, a cubic foot of water weighs around 60 pounds. Depending on the surface area of your basement walls, this can mean over 1,000's of pounds of inward pressure on your walls! Unfortunately for this basement in Covington, KY, the built up water around the outside of the foundation was resulting in cracks, leaks, and bowed walls. We were able to relieve the immense weight off the walls by installing our interior perimeter waterproofing system, along with our PowerBrace wall repair system. As the waterproofing system drains the water away from the walls, the PowerBrace system actively shifts the wall back to a straight plane. We also installed our BrightWall paneling system, which will help drains the cracked walls and provide some aesthetic benefits as well. Give us a call if hydrostatic pressure is terrorizing your home for a free inspection!
This home had an egress window (that we didn't install) in the basement that was leaking. We solved the leaking by installing a well duct that is able to lead water from the well to a TripleSafe sump pump. We also installed WaterGuard along the perimeter of the basement that also leads to the sump pump. You can see the well duct system in the after picture under the egress window.
This pier underpinning project to stabilize this sinking foundation required us to tear down a fake wall. This homeowner was a previous client of ours when we stabilized the backside of their garage. They were happy with the job we did, so they had us out again to install more piers. This time, we stabilized the front side.
