This pier underpinning project to stabilize this sinking foundation required us to tear down a fake wall. This homeowner was a previous client of ours when we stabilized the backside of their garage. They were happy with the job we did, so they had us out again to install more piers. This time, we stabilized the front side. This home had some windows and doors that were sticking because the foundation was settling. You can see the owners placed a rag between the door and the frame, as well as painted over the crack above the frame. After we installed our piers, we raised the foundation back to where it was. No more need for paint or rags.
This home had an unfinished basement with walls that were crumbling and caving in. This is a pretty common occurrence because over time, hydro-static pressure and just pressure in general from outside the walls put a pretty big strain on walls that are weaker, like concrete block foundations. The best fix for this is to place Powerbraces along the pressure points to stop the wall from completely failing. The Powerbraces are heavy duty and are designed to be able to hold a lot of weight and pressure. Now this customer does not have to worry about their walls collapsing in.
This home had a wall that had a long horizontal crack from a shifting foundation. We installed helical piers to seal the crack back together and to stop the foundation from shifting again.
This crawlspace's main beam was being held up by a pile of rocks. Of course, this is unsustainable, and we needed to implement SmartJacks to help support the foundation.
