A homeowner in Morrow had a tilting wall in his home and called The Basement Doctor for a solution to this problem.  An appointment was scheduled with our Certified Inspector, Roger.

Roger met with the homeowner and recommended PowerBraces to solve this problem.  A PowerBrace is a patented, steel I-Beam coated with zinc, to resist rust, and is designed to stabilize walls that are tilting or bowing.  These PowerBraces can be tightened and can potentially straighten the wall over time!  PowerBraces are installed without having to excavate your outside yard and with minimal disruption to the inside area.  With the PowerBraces installed, the wall is now stable, with no concerns of any further movement of the wall.  

Jeff, a homeowner in Maineville, Ohio discovered water seeping into his crawlspace and some of the insulation was starting to fall down.  He called The Basement Doctor for a solution to this problem.

An appointment was scheduled with one of our Certified Inspectors to help him find a solution to this problem.  The Certified Inspector recommended A SmartSump, CleanSpace Encapsulation system, and a SaniDry dehumidifier.

The SmartSump pump system is designed especially for crawlspaces and includes an alarm that will sound if there is a pump or power failure.  CleanSpace encapsulation system is made out of a heavy plastic similar to a pool liner and is attached to the floor and walls of the crawlspace.  The Sanidry is a dehumidifier that will keep the humidity in the crawlspace low, preventing mold growth, and musty smells that can come from a damp crawlspace.  Together, these products will give the homeowner a healthier, more comfortable home. 

A homeowner in Kings Mill, Ohio was having problems with water seeping into a partially finished basement. A South Lebanon, Ohio homeowner was insulating his basement when he noticed water seeping into the basement at the floor.  We installed WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System along with a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System to resolve the water problem he was having in the basement.  The WaterGuard will intercept the water that is seeping in and then it will be drained into the SuperSump and be drained out of the basement.  He will be able to continue his insulating project without further concern that the insulation would be damaged by water seepage.  

A Springboro, Ohio homeowner was concerned about what could happen if the primary sump pump isn't working in the basement.   A power failure or primary sump pump failure could happen while the homeowner was away and the basement could possibly get flooded with water.  An UltraSump Battery Back-up System is the answer to that problem.  If the primary pump does not run due to pump failure or power outages the UltraSump Battery Back-up Pump will automatically turn on and run on battery power.  This will give the homeowner extra time to be able to resolve the primary sump pump problem before damage can occur due to a flooded basement.  

An Oregonia, Ohio homeowner has a home built in the 1920s with block walls and there is a sump pump that has already been installed.  The homeowner needed help with the problem with some bowing walls and called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati.  We installed PowerBraces to the bowing walls.  The PowerBraces are steel I-Beams secured tightly against the bowing wall and secured with brackets attached to the floor joists and walls.  These PowerBraces immediately stabilize the wall and are designed to be tightened over time to potentially reverse the wall failure.  

The walls of this basement also look to have some moisture that seeps in at times and has some dark marks along the walls.  A product that could be considered to be installed in this basement would be a BrightWall Paneling System, a WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System, and a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier.  

BrightWall covers the walls, giving the basement a clean, semi-finished look and also drains any wall leaks down into the WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System.  WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing system is a piping system installed along the foundation walls to intercept water that is seeping into the basement.  The water is then pumped into the sump pump system, such as the SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System, to be pumped out of the basement.  

The SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System is a high-end 1/3 hp Zoeller cast iron pump with a mechanical float switch.  Also includes the WaterWatch Alarm that sounds an alarm if water reaches the point that the pump should have turned on, or during a power failure.  This will alert the homeowner to a problem before damage occurs.  It is also available with an UltraSump Battery Back-up System.  The Ultra Sump will automatically turn on during a pump or power failure and comes with a maintenance free battery and charging station.  

The SaniDry Sedona filters and dries the air keeping the humidity low.  Having low humidity is important to have a more comfortable environment in the whole home.  Whatever air is in the basement is also upstairs in the living space.  High humidity is uncomfortable in the summer especially and encourages mold and musty odors. 

Now that the homeowner has chosen a solution to the bowing walls that was solved with PowerBraces, the homeowner has peace of mind that the foundation is safe from further movement and over time may be able to straighten the wall.  The homeowner could decide at a later date to semi-finish the basement with a BrightWall Paneling System or WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System, and maybe upgrade the sump pump, this which would create a space that the homeowner could use for storage and possibly extra living space.   

A Mason, Ohio homeowner was having problems with water seeping into the unfinished basement.  The foundation is block and a sump pump has not been installed.  He met with Donny, a Certified Inspector who recommended that WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System, a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System, and an UltraSump Battery Back-up System is installed to resolve this problem.

The UltraSump Battery Back-up System will automatically turn on during primary pump or power failure.  It will run on battery power and comes with its own battery and charging station.

A Franklin, Ohio homeowner was having problems with standing water in the back of the crawl space of the home.  We installed a SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System.  

The SmartSump is a pumping system made especially for crawl spaces.  It has a WaterWatch Alarm that will sound an alarm if there is water from plumbing leaking into the crawl space.  This is a nice feature to have since a lot of homeowners do not go into the crawl space that often and may not realize there is a plumbing leak until receiving a high water bill.  The SmartSump has an Airtight Lid that will let water seep down into the liner but will not allow the water to come back into the crawl space.  

Another product to be considered for the crawl space area is the CleanSpace Encapsulation System.  CleanSpace is a plastic liner, similar to a pool liner, that is attached to the floor and walls of the crawl space to provide a mold and vapor-proof barrier between the ground and the home.  

A Mason, Ohio homeowner was having problems with water seeping into the basement.  The home is about 35 years old with poured foundation walls and the basement currently had a sump pump installed.  The homeowner was concerned about the water intrusion and called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati for help to resolve this problem.

Another product to be considered for this home would be the BrightWall Paneling System.  BrightWall Panels are sheets of plastic paneling that cover the walls and also drain wall leaks down into the WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System.  The bright white color of the BrightWall reflects natural light and gives the basement a semi-finished look.  

These products working together to intercept the water and then pump it out of the basement will give the homeowner a dry basement for life that they can use for storage, extra living space or recreation without worries of water intrusion.

A homeowner in Franklin, Ohio was having problems with water seeping into the basement.  We installed WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System to resolve this problem for the homeowner.

A newer homeowner was concerned about some water that was seeping into the finished basement.  The homeowner met with Walt, a Certified Inspector, who recommended that a WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System, a TripleSafe Sump Pump System and a SaniDry Sedona is installed to resolve the problems they were having in the basement. 

WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is used to intercept the water that seeps into the basement and then pumps is out of the basement with the use of a sump pump.  

The TripleSafe Sump Pump System as the name states is a three pump system.  The first pump will do the majority of the pumping.  If it would fail or become overwhelmed, the second pump will also run, giving the first pump a "turbo boost".  These pumps working together can pump up to 6,250 gallons of water per hour out of the basement. The figure eight shaped liner holds all three pumps so that it doesn't take up much room in the basement.  The TripleSafe also includes the WaterWatch Alarm, Airtight Floor drain, and knockouts to drain a dehumidifier directly into the TripleSafe.

The SaniDry Sedona is used to dry and filter the air.  The SaniDry maintains the proper humidity level in your home which helps to protect against mold and musty odors.  The special filters in the SaniDry filter the air and remove mold spores, dust mite droppings and other particulates from the air.  This makes your home healthier and more comfortable.

We installed WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing, a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System, and PowerBrace System for a homeowner in Lebanon, Ohio.

The SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System is the system that was recommended for this project.  The SuperSump is a 1/3 hp Zoeller cast iron sump pump.  The SuperSump can pump up to 2,650 gallons of water per hour out of the basement.  It comes with a WaterWatch Alarm, SuperLiner and an Airtight Lid with an Airtight Floor Drain.  The WaterWatch Alarm will sound if the water reaches the level that the pump should have come on or during a pump or power failure.  This alerts the homeowner to a problem with the system that needs to be resolved.  The SuperLiner is a heavy-duty liner that will not cave in or crack and has 96 holes throughout it to allow water to also flow in from under the floor.  The Airtight Lid keeps the water that is in the liner from evaporating back into the basement, keeps out odors and insects and helps to quiet the pump.  The Airtight floor drain allows water from a plumbing leak to flow into the SuperLiner to be pumped out of the basement.  

PowerBrace System is used to stabilize foundation walls that are bowing or tipping.  The PowerBrace is a steel I-Beam that is installed tightly against the failing wall and attached with brackets to the floor and floor joists.  An adjustable bracket is designed to be tightened over time to potentially reverse the wall failure.  

A home in Lebanon, Ohio, had standing water in the crawl space.  The homeowner was not sure where this water was coming from, so they called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati for a solution to this problem.  After meeting with a certified inspector, the homeowner decided to have a CleanSpace Encapsulation System installed to keep this from happening again.  

CleanSpace is a 20-mil-thick plastic liner that is attached to the walls and the floor of the crawl space.  This provides a vapor-proof barrier between the ground and the home.   A SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System was installed to drain water away from the crawl space.  The SmartSump has a WaterWatch Alarm that will sound if there is a pump or power failure.  This is a great feature to have because many homeowners don't go into the crawl space to realize there is a problem with the system until it is too late, and damage has occurred.  Another great feature of this system is the Airtight Floor Drain.  If water from a plumbing leak flows into the crawl space, the water will drain down into the Airtight Floor Drain and will be removed from the crawl space. The homeowner also had an UltraSump Battery Back up System installed.  The UltraSump automatically turns on during a power failure and comes with a battery and charging station. SilverGlo Crawl Space Wall Insulation was placed along the walls of the crawl space.  The SilverGlo insulation has graphite infused into it to reflect heat into the crawl space.  This makes the home more comfortable to heat and makes the floors warmer in the winter.

These products working together will keep the crawl space dry and the inside of the home warmer.   

A homeowner in Lebanon, Ohio called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati to find a solution to a problem they were having with a porch that was sinking and cracking.  We installed a Helical Pier System to stabilize the porch foundation and protect it against further movement.  The helical Piers are steel piers that are mechanically screwed down into the ground until they reach competent soil.  A bracket is attached to the pier and to the foundation.  This transfers the weight of the foundation through the pier and to the competent soil.  This stabilizes the foundation and protects it from further movement.

A homeowner in Mason, Ohio, was having problems with water seeping into the basement.  The water seemed to be coming in between the wall and the floor and also through a window well.  The homeowner reported already having a sump pump installed, but thought they probably needed a new one.   We installed a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System to replace the existing pump.  We also installed a WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System and a WellDuct Window Well Drain for the homeowner.

We installed a TripleSafe Sump in a three-year-old home in Morrow, Ohio.  The TripleSafe Sump Pump System has three pumps.  The main pump will do the majority of the pumping.  If this pump would fail or become overwhelmed pump 2 will start up and run along with pump one to remove the water from the basement.  The Third pump is the Battery Back-up System.  This pump will start up and run on battery power to pump water out of the basement during a power failure.  The WaterWatch Alarm will sound to alert the homeowner that there is a problem with the system that needs to be resolved.  

On this property in Maineville, Ohio several concrete slabs in the driveway and sidewalk were sloping and cracking. This damage was caused over time by erosion and pressure. We lifted the slabs back to level by filling the gap underneath the slabs with high-strength PolyLevel polyurethane foam. We then sealed the cracks with silicone-based NexusPro. This system should raise, stabilize, and protect the concrete. 

Our team was called out to a property in Fairfield Township, Ohio to see why the concrete driveway and sidewalk were becoming uneven. The team determined that the soil had washed out from underneath the slabs - creating uneven surfaces. We lifted the slabs back to level and stabilized them through a series of strategic PolyLevel injections. 

A home in Mason Ohio was having issues with a cracking and sinking driveway. We lifted the driveway back to level with PolyLevel and sealed the cracks with UV-resistant NexusPro joint sealant. This should permanently stabilize and protect the concrete. 

A home in Franklin, Ohio was having issues with an uneven driveway and cracking driveway slabs. Our team installed PolyLevel beneath the slabs in order to raise them and installed NexusPro joint sealant over the cracks to prevent further water infiltration and erosion. 

This home in South Lebanon had its foundation settling unevenly due to soil movement and inadequate support.

To stabilize the foundation and restore their home to its former glory, we proposed a holistic solution that combined cutting-edge technology with traditional expertise. The plan included the use of helical piers, SmartJack XT supports, a supplemental beam, and joint assist brackets.

The first step was to install helical piers. These innovative devices would be driven deep into stable soil to provide a solid foundation for the house. Their unique design allowed for precise installation, ensuring uniform support across the entire structure.

Next, the team introduced SmartJack XT supports. These intelligent devices were placed strategically beneath the sagging floors. Equipped with adjustable components, SmartJack XT supports would not only lift the floors back to their original level but also offer continuous support against future settlement.

Recognizing the need for additional reinforcement, our team installed a supplemental beam along the main load-bearing wall. This beam would work in conjunction with the helical piers and SmartJack XT supports to distribute the weight of the house evenly and prevent further settling.

The final touch to this transformative process was the application of joint assist brackets. These brackets, carefully positioned at key junctures, would help minimize the impact of structural movement and ensure the integrity of the repairs over time.

With the plan in place, the team at GroundGuard Experts began their meticulous work. Despite the challenges of working within the tight crawl space, they executed each step with precision and care. The home owners watched as their home slowly but surely regained its stability, and their worries began to fade.

As the project came to an end, we conducted a final inspection to ensure that every element of the repair had been executed flawlessly. The transformation was remarkable. The floors were level, the cracks had disappeared, and the doors now closed with ease.
