The main beam in the ceiling of this basement had become warped from excessive use. To add extra support and to stop the floors from sagging from the floor above, we installed SmartJacks and a supplemental beam across the main beam. The result was a success.

Diane C. noticed a musty and moldy smell in her home when the air conditioning unit came on. The crawlspace under her home had a dirt floor and some of the insulation was starting to fall out from between the floor joists. This was not the first time she had an issue with water seeping into the crawlspace and decided it was time to have it resolved so she called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati.
An appointment was scheduled with a certified inspector, Jeff. Jeff recommended a SmartSump pump system, which is designed just for crawl spaces, along with IceGuard and a LawnScape Outlet. CleanSpace encapsulation system with drainage matting, CleanSpace vent covers, an Everlast door to provide an airtight seal in the crawlspace and a SaniDry dehumidifier to keep the humidity low.
Removal of the debris and these products installed, Diane will now be able to enjoy her home without having to worry about the musty smell every time the air conditioning unit comes on.
A Jamestown, Ohio homeowner was having problems with water seeping into the basement. The house was built in the mid-1970's and still has the same homeowner. He met with one of our certified inspectors who recommended a new sump system is installed. The system he recommended was The SuperSump Pump System. The SuperSump Pump System includes a 1/3 hp Zoeller sump pump with a WaterWatch Alarm that will sound when the water reaches the point that the pump should have started, a SuperLiner that will not crack or cave in, and the Airtight Lid that keeps moisture from evaporating back into the basement, quiets the pump, and keeps things from falling into the sump well. It is strong enough to stand on.
A Bellbrook Ohio homeowner had researched online about crawl spaces and wanted to have the crawl space area of his home encapsulated. The crawlspace had a concrete floor and there was not any insulation on the walls of the crawl space. We installed our CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System and SilverGlo Insulation in the crawl space. The CleanSpace will seal out dirt and moisture from getting into the crawl space and the SilverGlo Insulation will help to keep the floors warmer in the winter.
A Spring Valley, Ohio homeowner was having problems with water seeping into the basement at the seam between the wall and the floor. The basement was unfinished and used mostly for storage, but there was concern that the water seepage could cause problems with the things that are stored in the basement. We installed the patented WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System. WaterGuard is a piping system that intercepts water that seeps into the basement. It is then pumped out of the basement through a sump pump system, such as a SuperSump Premier Pump System. The SuperSump is one of the most reliable pumps available and includes a WaterWatch Alarm, a SuperLiner, and an Airtight Lid. Now that the water is no longer an issue in the basement, the homeowner will be able to use the basement for storage without being concerned that the stored items will be damaged.
A Jamestown, Ohio homeowner was having problems with the basement flooding after a heavy rain. He called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati to find a solution to this problem.
The homeowner met with a certified inspector who recommended that a TripleSafe Sump Pump system is installed to resolve this problem for the homeowner.
The TripleSafe Sump Pump System is a three pump system. Pump one is the primary pump that will be doing the majority of the pumping. It is a Zoeller 1/3 hp pump. Pump two is a 1/2 hp high volume pump and it will turn on if pump one fails or becomes overwhelmed by the amount of water both pumps will work at the same time and can pump a total of 6,200 gallons of water out of the basement per hour. Pump three is an UltraSump Battery Back-up Pump this pump will turn on during a power failure and run via battery power. It comes with its own battery and charging station.
A home that was built in 1875 had water seeping into the basement on the floor. We installed the WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System, a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System, and a SaniDry Sedona. The WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is a sub-floor piping system used to intercept the water that seeps into the basement. The water is drained into the sump pump system to be removed from the basement. The SuperSump includes a SuperLiner, Airtight Lid with an AirTight Floor Drain, and the WaterWatch Alarm. The SaniDry Sedona is used to dry and filter the air. Controlling the humidity in the home is an essential step in keeping your home healthy. To give this basement a semi-finished look, the homeowner could also have BrightWall Panels installed. BrightWall Panels cover the walls like traditional paneling and also drain wall leaks into the WaterGuard.
Over time, concrete slabs like those in the driveway or sidewalk can become uneven due to pressure, erosion, and other factors. That's what happened to the driveway of this Cedarville, Ohio property. The homeowners noticed that the driveway was beginning to slope and create a drop-off at the edge of the garage. This was posing a tripping hazard and the gap was filling with ice in the winter. The owners knew it was best to get the issue repaired before anyone was injured.
Our technicians raised the driveway back to level with some strategically placed PolyLevel injections. These high-strength polyurethane foam injections are injected beneath the slab and expand as they dry - lifting the slab back to level. Unlike other traditional methods of concrete repair, PolyLevel won't wash out, dry out, or erode over time. This creates permanent stability and peace of mind for our customers, including the owners of this property in Cedarville.
The owners of a home in Dayton, Ohio noticed an odd odor seeping into their home. After some investigation, they determined that it was coming from their crawl space. When they called us to do an inspection, we were more than happy to help.
Our inspector determined that vapor, mold, and mildew in the crawl space were causing the odor. They recommended that the space be encapsulated with a CleanSpace liner. CleanSpace decouples the effects of the earth from the crawl space - creating a durable barrier. CleanSpace also contains an antimicrobial additive known as "UltraFresh," which helps to prevent the growth of germs and bacteria in the crawl space. They also recommended that they install a SaniDry Sedona. The SaniDry Sedona is the world's most powerful dehumidifier for its size and will keep the crawl space below 55% relative humidity.
After the crawl space was encapsulated and the dehumidifier was installed, the odor was resolved. Now the homeowners can enjoy their home without having to worry about smells, mold, or unhealthy home air.
Our team was called out to a property in Xenia, Ohio with an uneven front stoop. This homeowner had made the decision to have PolyLevel injected under the concrete fixture in order to raise and level it. PolyLevel is a high-strength polyurethane foam that lifts slabs back to level with minimal invasion.
PolyLevel injections provide a solution to concrete sinking that addresses the root cause of concrete failure. It is injected through very small holes drilled through the concrete that become almost invisible when patched. PolyLevel provides a permanent and high-strength solution. In fact, PolyLevel is so strong that it can be used to repair roads, bridges, railroads, and airport runways.
After the process was complete, the stoop had been raised back to level. This left the homeowner with peace of mind as they were able to walk on the stoop without the fear of their guests and family members falling on the uneven surface.
For homeowners with a finished basement, flooding is their worst nightmare. That's what happened to this Beavercreek homeowner. After a big storm in Dayton, Ohio called a mitigation company to remove the water in her basement. Properly drying the affected area meant the mitigation company had to cut a large hole in the drywall. That's when they discovered a large crack in the foundation wall.
After finding us on Angie Leads, Mrs. Cameron called us for her basement waterproofing needs. Our certified inspector Chris gave her a free estimate. Within weeks her basement was successfully waterproofed by our Flexispan.
Fairborn, Ohio is currently in a D2 severe class drought as of right now. We have received many calls from this area regarding settlement sinkings because the soil is so shrunk up right now. One of the calls we received, which will be covering in this Job Story, had quite the experience with foundation settlement. They first noticed their door was sticking a couple months ago, and they didn't think too much of it. In the months since, very large cracks started to appear in their drywall near the framing of the doors. They noticed the cracks were expanding and starting to reach other parts of the home. They were watching their house sink in real time and felt helpless. It was truly a nightmare for them. They started doing some research online and found our website to be very useful. They then called us to come and help them.
We diagnosed their settling house and devised a plan to install our steel piers on the one side of the house. We excavated down and eventually found their footers. We then drilled our helical piers down into load-bearing strata. We knew we found load-bearing strata by the pressure gauges on our drilling device. We then attached the piers to the footers using brackets. After that, we lifted the brackets using hydraulics, which helped close some of the gaps in their home. We then backfilled the piers and cleaned up best we could. After all of this, the homeowner had a huge sigh of relief and left us a very nice review.
