Why do they call it a Smart Sump?
Water that is leaking into the crawl space from a plumbing leak will fill a special pocket on the Airtight Lid and sound the WaterWatch Alarm. The water will then drain down into the Airtight Floor Drain and be pumped out of the crawl space. The WaterWatch Alarm will also sound if there is a pump or power failure. This is a smart feature to have since many homeowners do not venture into the crawl space very often to ever know that there is a problem in the crawl space.

We encapsulated a crawl space for a homeowner in Arcanum, Ohio. We installed a SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System, UltraSump Battery Back-up System, CleanSpace Encapsulation System, CleanSpace Vent Covers, and a Sanidry Sedona.
The SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System is used to remove water from the crawl space. The SmartSump has a WaterWatch Alarm that will sound if water from a plumbing leak is leaking into the crawl space. The alarm will also sound if there is a pump failure.
