This home in Fairfield, OH was having some settlement issues that the homeowners could not ignore any longer. The chimney started to tilt away from the house and the bricks began to crack. Our Field Inspector developed a plan with the homeowner to install helical piers in all the most critical spots. Helical piers are screw like rods that we drill deep into load-bearing soil, and then we attach them to the footers of the home. Settling Chimney

You can see the gap forming on the right side of the chimney. When this happens, rain water can get between the chimney and the side of your house, causing lots of damage. It's important to get the chimney stabilized, and then to seal it again.
