WaterGuard, Super and Ultra Sumps and PowerBraces resolve basement problems in Tipp City, OH

Challenge

In 2017, a homeowner in Tipp City called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati regarding water that was seeping into the basement of their home.  The homeowner met with a Certified Inspector who recommended that WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System, a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System and an UltraSump Battery Back up System is installed to resolve this problem.

In 2019, the homeowner was starting to notice some cracking and bowing on a back wall and called The Basement Doctor again to find solutions to this problem.  To resolve the bowing wall problem Chris, a Certified Inspector, recommended that PowerBraces are installed to stabilize the failing wall. 

Solution

WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System was installed in this homeowner's basement to resolve the water problems in the basement.  The WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is a piping system that is installed under the floor along the foundation walls.  The WaterGuard will collect the water and drain it into a sump pump system.  The job of a sump pump is to pump water out of the basement.  Our SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System is one of the best pumps available.  It is installed on a Clean Pump Stand that will lift the pump out of the sediment that settles to the bottom of the liner.  Also included is a WaterWatch Alarm that will sound an alarm if there is a pump or power failure, and an Airtight Lid with an Airtight Floor Drain.  The pump is a high-end 1/3 horsepower pump and will perform reliably and smoothly.  The UltraSump is a battery back up system.  This system automatically turns on during a pump or power failure and will run on battery power to pump water out of the basement.

The PowerBrace System is used to stabilize a wall that is cracking, tipping or bowing.  The PowerBrace is a steel I-beam that is secured tightly against the wall and is attached with brackets to the floor and floor joists.  The PowerBrace immediately stabilizes a failing wall and protects it from further movement.  The PowerBrace is designed with an adjustable bracket that can be tightened over time to potentially reverse the wall failure.  

With these systems installed in the basement, the basement will be protected from water intrusion and the wall that was starting to bow is stabilized and could be straightened over time.  This will give the homeowner a basement that can be used for extra living space or storage.
