We used our helical pier system in order to stabilize this settling home in Yellow Springs, OH. This house was on a slab foundation, and to be honest, the footing of the home was probably not deep enough. The deeper the footer, the more stable. Either way, this house needed stabilized so we got started by digging trenches around the problem area. We then drilled our piers down into deep soil so that we could transfer the weight of the home to load-bearing strata. We then backfilled the piers so that they are concealed from the eye. The result was a stable home with a pleased homeowner.
Helical Pier System
A bracket is attached to the pier and to the foundation footer. We space our piers out evenly to make sure the house is secured.
Home Footer
The footer of the home was thick enough, but probably not deep enough.
Stabilized Home
We backfilled the piers when we finished the job.
Problematic Soil
