Crawl Space Cleaned and Stabilized in Fayetteville, Ohio

Challenge

This Fayetteville crawl space was experiencing some serious issues that were leading to problems throughout the home. For one, the crawl space roof was unstable and sagging in - creating an uneven floor in the first-floor bathroom. There was also a lot of water, moisture, and debris infiltrating the crawl space and creating unhealthy, musty air. This was a crawl space in need of intensive work. Luckily, our team knew how to help. 

Solution

The first thing our team did was remove the crawl space's old plastic liner and all the debris that had gathered there. Then they began the process of installing a number of waterproofing measures, starting with a CleanSpace liner on the floor and walls of the crawl space. This is a vapor-proof liner with an antimicrobial additive known as "UltraFresh." This liner is intended to uncouple the effects of the earth from the crawl space. 

Then the team began to install a set of SuperSumps with UltraSump battery back-ups - 3 sump systems in total. These are strategically placed in order to provide maximum coverage for the basement. All 3 were attached to the perf pipe system, which will collect and carry water to and from the sumps. A SaniDry Sedona humidifier was also installed to pull moisture out of the space. All of the moisture collected in the crawl space will be redistributed to the outdoor POP-UP and LawnScape outlets. 

Lastly, a number of support measures were installed in the crawl space - including 5 SmartJacks and 33 feet worth of supplemental beams (2 supplemental beams in total). These should help elevate and stabilize the ceiling in the crawl space - creating structural stability and potentially lifting the floors of the home as well.
