CleanSpace Encapsulation and SmartJack Floor Support System installed in Lebanon, OH

Challenge

A home in Lebanon, Ohio, was experiencing some cracks in the interior of the home that they have owned for over 20 years.  The homeowner called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati and met with Chris, a Certified Inspector to find a solution to this problem.  

Solution

Chris recommended that the homeowner have a CleanSpace Encapsulation System installed into the crawl space along with SmartJack Floor Supports installed.

CleanSpace is a 20-mil-thick plastic liner that is similar to a pool liner.  The CleanSpace Liner is attached to the walls and floor of the crawl space to provide a moisture-proof barrier.  The bright white liner also reflects light making the crawl space easier to access.  CleanSpace Vent Covers are installed over the existing vents to provide an airtight seal.

SilverGlo Crawl Space Wall Insulation is installed on the walls of the crawl space.  This helps to reduce condensation, heating costs, and makes the floors warmer in the winter.  

Over time the foundation of a home can begin to settle, which can cause the floors to sag and cracks in the walls. SmartJack Floor Supports are used to raise the floors back to a level position.  A structural stone is compacted into place, and a steel pier is cut to size and installed under the floor that needs support.  An adjustable screw is used to jack the floor into place.
