CleanSpace and SmartJacks Used in Cincinnati, OH
Challenge
A homeowner in Cincinnati was having several problems with a crawlspace and called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati for help with this problem. The house was built in the late 50's and they have owned it since the 1970's. The foundation was made of block, and there was no sump pump installed. An appointment was scheduled for a free no obligation appointment with Roger, one of our Certified Inspectors, to help her find a solution to the problems she was having. Roger met with the homeowner and recommended solutions to the problems in the Crawlspace.
Solution
The main products for this job would include a SmartSump pump, CleanSpace Crawlspace Encapsulation System, SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier and RimTight Joist Insulation. The SmartSump is a sump pump made especially for crawlspaces. The SmartSump pump has a special lid design that if there is a plumbing leak in the crawlspace the water would fill a pocket and sound an alarm alerting the homeowner to a problem. CleanSpace is a plastic liner that is attached to the walls and floor of the crawlspace providing a vapor-proof barrier between the ground below and the crawlspace area. The SaniDry Sedona is a dehumidifier that will keep the humidity low. The SmartJack is a high-capacity adjustable pier used to stop settling and can raise settled floors back to the original position. RimTight insulation seals and insulates the rim joist, which is the board just above the foundation around the perimeter of your home. This will prevent cold air from coming in the winter and humidity and condensation from seeping in during the summer.
