PolyLevel Injection or concrete slab replacement?
Challenge
A homeowner in Middletown had a porch that had begun to crack and sink in the middle. Would it be best to replace it and start over or use Polylevel Injection?
Solution
When Polylevel Injection is used, there is no need to tear out and replace the concrete. We all know that concrete is a heavy material. Over time the weight of the concrete compacts the ground underneath the slab causing it to sink and crack. If this porch was repaired by adding more concrete on top, the slab is going to be even heavier and will cause it to sink again. When using the Polylevel System, we are resolving the problem at the source. Polylevel Injection is done by drilling a small hole into the slab and injecting an expandable foam that will fill the voids underneath the slab and will lift it up into place. The hole is patched and you may not even be able to tell that anything was ever done. The slab will be ready to use in no time, try doing that with newly poured concrete. Polylevel foam is much lighter than concrete and will resolve the problem for many years to come. Did I mention the mess? With Polylevel Injection, there is very little mess and a lot of homeowners have commented that the place even looks better after we've left!
