Basement to Beautiful Panels and Waterproofing Measures Insulate and Secure Loveland Basement

Challenge

The owners of this home decided to have their basement waterproofed and insulated after noticing how drafty and damp their basement became during the winter month. The basement previously had only cold concrete walls and no efficient drainage system to protect it from water infiltration. This charming Loveland basement also came complete with a fireplace, which the homeowners were looking to protect from potential water damage. Luckily, our team has the perfect solutions system in mind. 

Solution

This basement was fitted with a set of insulated "Basement to Beautiful" wall panels. These panels are designed with advanced SilverGlo insulation - an innovative, closed-cell, graphite-infused insulation that is designed to be 24% more energy-efficient than competing foam paneling. This should help prevent the basement from becoming as cold and drafty during the winter, lowering the heating costs not only for the basement but for the rest of the home as well. 

In addition to insulated paneling, this home was also fitted with a series of waterproofing measures. A WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement, including the basement fireplace. This should protect the walls and fixtures from pooling water by draining the water down to the sump.

This basement had a SuperSump and UltraSump combination installed in the corner, which will function even in the event of a power failure. The SuperSump itself is the finest available on the market and can pump 2,650 gallons of water every hour. When combined with the UltraSump battery back-up system, this sump can continue pumping over 12,000 total gallons of water out of the basement using only the battery's charge.

This water is then pumped to an outdoor discharge line, where it is then released into the yard. These homeowners also chose to have an IceGuard installed, which will provide a secondary outlet for water in the event of the discharge line clogging or freezing. 

These measures provided these homeowners with a warmer, dry, and protected basement.
