WaterGuard, SuperSump and PowerBraces used to resolve water problems in West Chester, OH
Challenge
A home in West Chester was having problems with water leaking in along one wall of the basement so they called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati to find a solution to this problem. The homeowner met with Roger, a Certified Inspector, who recommended that WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System, a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System, PowerBrace System, and a SaniDry Sedona is installed to resolve the problems with water in the basement.
Solution
WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is a sub-floor piping system that is used to intercept the water that is leaking into the basement. Since the WaterGuard is installed under the floor, the water can be collected unseen by the homeowner. WaterGuard can also be used with our flooring and wall systems to help the homeowner create a beautiful, healthier, basement that can be used for extra living space or storage without worries of water intrusion. Once the water is collected, it is drained into a sump pump system and removed from the basement.
The SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System is a high-end 1/3 hp pump that includes the WaterWatch Alarm, The SuperLiner, and the Airtight Lid. The WaterWatch Alarm sounds if the water reaches the point that the pump should have turned on or if there is a power failure. This alerts the homeowner to a problem with the system that needs to be resolved. Knowing that there is a problem with the system as it is happening can save the homeowner a lot of money down the road. The SuperLiner houses the pump and attaches to the Airtight Lid. The Airtight Lid keeps the water from evaporating back into the basement, keeps objects from falling into the liner, and keeps out odors and insects. The Airtight Lid is durable enough that you could stand on it or even store things on top of it.
The SaniDry Sedona is used to dry and filter the air. Too much humidity in the air encourages mold growth, musty odors, and makes the home uncomfortable. Mold needs a source of moisture to grow, so by removing the source of water, you are reducing the chances of the mold having an opportunity to grow. The SaniDry Sedona can be drained into a knock out in the Airtight Lid, so there are never any buckets to empty, making this a great choice. The filters on the SaniDry filter mold spores, dust mite droppings, allergens, and other particulates from the air. This will make the air in the home healthier and more comfortable.
Lastly, the PowerBrace System was installed. PowerBraces are used to stabilize a wall that is cracking, tilting, or bowing. The PowerBrace System is a set of I-beams that are attached to the floor joists and the floor and secured tightly against the wall. This immediately stabilizes the wall and protects it from further movement.
