Photo Album: FlexiSpan Crack Repair used to resolve leaking wall in Vandalia, OH
We installed a FlexiSpan Crack Repair System on a poured foundation wall in a basement located in Vandalia, Ohio. The homeowner met with Donny, a Certified Inspector, who recommended that the FlexiSpan Crack Repair System is installed to resolve the problem the homeowner had been having with this wall.
FlexiSpan Crack Repair System is a permanent solution for a crack in a poured foundation wall that is leaking water into the basement. The first step to this repair solution is to seal the crack with a bead of sealant. This is a common way of repairing a crack in a basement wall. The FlexiSpan Crack Repair System goes a little further and here is why. As your home continues to settle, the crack may re-open and begin to leak again. The FlexiSpan Crack Repair System also adds a FlexiSpan Foam Drain Strip over the bead of sealant. If there is any water that ever gets passed the bead of sealant, the water will be wicked into the foam drain strip. The Foam Drain Strip is tucked into the drainage well that has been installed under the repair, or it will be tucked into the WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System if that has been installed. Next, a flexible Sealant Overlay is applied over the foam drain strip to completely seal the repair. These extra steps are what makes the FlexiSpan Crack Repair different from the typical crack repair. With these extra steps, the water will no longer be able to make its way into your basement, making this a permanent repair. In some cases, a Bright Wall Panel is placed over the repair. The BrightWall Panel is a plastic panel that can be used to cover the wall, like typical paneling systems, but the BrightWall Paneling will also drain wall leaks down into the drainage system.
