Basement to Beautiful Panels used in Cincinnati, OH

Challenge

A 70-year-old home with a block foundation had water seeping in at the floor near the foundation wall.  The basement did not have a sump pump installed.  The homeowner called The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati to explore the options to make the basement a more usable space.  The homeowner met with Jeff, a Certified Inspector, who recommended that WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System, a TrenchDrain, and a TripleSafe Sump Pump System installed to resolve the water problems in the basement.   The homeowner also decided to have Foamax and Basement to Beautiful Panels installed to insulate the basement and make it easier to heat and cool.  

Solution

WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is a sub-floor piping system that is installed at the foundation walls.  The WaterGuard piping will intercept the water that seeps into the basement and drains it into a sump pump system and removed from the basement.  The TrenchDrain has a grated top and is installed across doorways and hatches.  

The TripleSafeSump Pump System, as the name suggests, includes three pumps.  Pump 1 is a 1/3 hp pump and will be doing the majority of the pumping.  If this pump becomes overwhelmed by a high volume of water, the second pump, a 1/2 hp high volume pump, will start up giving pump 1 a "turbo boost."  Pump 3 is the UltraSump Battery Back-up pump.  The UltraSump will turn on during a power failure to remove water from the basement.   The TripleSafe Sump Pump System also includes the WaterWatch Alarm, 3 pump stands, a twin liner, and Airtight Lid with an Airtight Floor Drain.  

Foamax Basement Wall Insulation is an advanced polyisocyanurate foam insulation with a white foil finish on the front and foil vapor barrier on the back.  Foamax will make your basement warmer and also will drain any wall leaks down into the WaterGuard.  The Basement To Beautiful Insulated Wall Panels is also used in this basement.  The Basement To Beautiful Insulated Wall Panels are designed with SilverGlo Insulation and has metal studs that are used to install drywall to finish the basement.  This closed-cell insulation will not soak up water like fiberglass insulation and is a perfect addition to your basement.

The Foamax and Basement To Beautiful Panels will drain any wall leaks and also make the basement warmer.  The WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System will intercept the water and drain it to the TripleSafe Sump Pump System and removed from the basement.  These products working together will give the homeowner a basement that can be enjoyed for years to come.
